“With this expansion, Converse County is protecting open space, improving access to outdoor recreation, and preserving one of Wyoming’s most iconic natural landmarks for future generations,” the Board of County Commissioners said in a joint statement. “We look forward to working with outdoor enthusiasts, recreation groups, local organizations, and the public to help shape how this additional space can best serve the community while maintaining the natural character of the area.”
This new acreage creates opportunities for expanded trail systems, open space exploration, and future outdoor recreation planning. Additional information regarding development plans, public access, and opportunities for community input will be shared following the closing.
