[ARCHIVED] More Information Regarding 9th Positive Case

On 4/19/2020 Converse County Public Health was notified of the 9th positive coronavirus case in Converse County. Upon completion of the contact investigation, it was determined that the positive case is an employee of Safeway. The client had very limited contact with the public on April 13th and 14th. At this time risk to the public is deemed to be low. Safeway has been notified and are enacting the following steps:

  • A 3rd party cleaning company will be brought in tonight to thoroughly clean and sanitize the entire store.
  • Prior to this positive case, Safeway had instituted a policy of cleaning and sanitizing the store every 3 hours; the front registers are cleaned and sanitized every hour.
  • Safeway has implemented employee health checks.
  • All employees had been directed to wear a face covering at all times while in the store
  • Working in conjunction with Converse County Public Health to identify any close contacts among employees and follow quarantine guidelines for those individuals.

As a reminder, please continue to wear face coverings or masks when in public, maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet, wash or sanitize your hands and personal items often, and only go out for essential needs.

Al finalizar la investigación de contacto, se determinó que el caso positivo es un empleado de Safeway. El empleado tuvo contacto muy limitado con el publico el 13 y 14 de abril. En este momento el riesgo para el público se considera bajo. Safeway ha sido notificado y están promulgando los siguientes pasos:

  • Una compañía de limpieza de terceros será traída esta noche para limpiar y desinfectar a fondo
    toda la tienda
  • Antes de este caso positivo, Safeway había instituido una política de limpieza y desinfección
    de la tienda. Los registros frontales se limpian y desinfectan cada hora.

  • Todos los empleados habían recibido instrucciones de usar una máscara en todo momento
    mientras estaban en la tienda.
  • Trabajando en conjunto con el Departamento de Salud Publica del Condado de Converse para
    identificar cualquier contacto cercano entre empleados y seguir las pautas de cuarentena para
    esas personas.

Como recordatorio, continúe usando máscaras cuando esté en público, mantenga distanciamiento social de al menos 6 pies, lávese o desinfecte sus manos y artículos personales con frecuencia, y solo vaya afuera por necesidades esenciales.
